LOOKING TO LEVEL IT UP?

With slightly more ingredients and a few extra steps, these next recipes are surely worth the effort! Explore the Pineapple Orange Punch by @milkofthykindness, Pom Collins by @thesocialsipper, or @leisurefanclub‘s Festive Empress Punch!

PINEAPPLE ORANGE PUNCH:

Combining traditional winter flavours like cranberry and clove, with tropical notes of fruit like pineapple and ginger, this batched beauty will be winning hearts all season long! Serves 6-8.

Ingredients
  • 6-8 oz Empress 1908 Gin
  • 750 ml Pineapple Juice
  • 250 ml Orange Juice
  • 2 Tbsp Orange Zest
  • 5-6 Whole Cloves
  • 2-3 Tbsp Grated Ginger
  • 1 cup Fresh Cranberries
  • 1 Whole Orange, cut into thin slices
  • 1 cup of Pineapple Slices
  • Pineapple Flowers, to garnish* (See below!)
Method

Combine the pineapple, orange juice and fruits in a pitcher with ginger, orange zest and cloves. Chill up to a day in advance to let the flavour marinate. Add Empress 1908 Gin and ice (directly to the pitcher or portion to individual glasses for preference.) Stir, and top it off with soda water if you like, in individual glasses. Garnish with a pineapple flower.

to make the pineapple flowers

Preheat your oven to 200F. Peel the pineapples and slice the fruit into thin wheels (leaving the core in). Make 5, 1/2 inch cuts around the edge of the wheels to mimic petals. Place the sliced pineapples on a cooling rack on top of a baking tray, and bake for 2 hours. Remove from the oven and mold the pineapples by placing them gently inside a muffin tin. Bake again until the flowers are golden and dry. Store in an airtight container.

FESTIVE EMPRESS PUNCH:

Another variation on a delicious holiday punch, @leisurefanclub‘s homemade Ginger Orange Simple Syrup sings in this next recipe.

Ingredients
  • 16 oz Empress 1908 Gin
  • 1 bottle Sparkling Wine Brut
  • 32 oz Cranberry Juice (Unsweetened)
  • 6 oz Orange Juice
  • 4 oz Ginger Orange Syrup (click here for the recipe)
  • Cranberry and Orange Ice Bundt (see below)
  • Dried Orange Slices
  • Cranberries
Method

Add all ingredients to a large punch bowl with ice of choice (see below on how to use a bundt pan to create a gorgeous ice wreath!) Give it a little stir, add dried orange slices and cranberries, and it’s done!

TIP!

Fill a bundt pan with water and add a handful of cranberries and fruit/herbs of choice. Freeze overnight or until solid. When ready to prepare the punch, remove pan from freezer and let sit at room temperature for a few moments. Carefully flip the pan into the punch bowl, and let the ice wreath fall out. Then, make your punch and enjoy!
